Timothy Linton, better known as Zim Zum, joined Marilyn Manson as live guitarist in 1996, replacing Daisy Berkowitz, who had recently departed due to the harassment of his bandmates, particularly Manson. Zum went on to perform with the band in the studio for its next record, Mechanical Animals. Zim Zum would leave the band before the release of Mechanical Animals, with Zim stating he left due to creative differences while Manson claimed Zim was fired for being unreliable. Zim Zum would be replace by John 5 for the Mechanical Animals tour and he would go on to found two other projects, Pleistoscene and The Pop Culture Suicides.
